Hailing from the world-famous slopes of the Helderberg region in Stellenbosch, Lyngrove "Platinum" Latitude represents the pinnacle of premium South African blending. To earn the prestigious title of a traditional "Cape Blend," a wine must prominently feature South Africa's signature grape, Pinotage, alongside classic old-world varietals. Master winemaker Danie van Tonder achieves a spectacular harmony by marrying intense, dark Pinotage (41%) with structured Cabernet Sauvignon (39%) and a velvety splash of spicy Shiraz (20%).
Drawn entirely from low-yielding, north-facing estate vineyards bathed in Atlantic maritime breezes, the hand-selected fruit undergoes extended skin maceration to extract pure flavor density. The wine is then patiently matured for 18 months in small, 300-liter French oak barrels (45% brand new). This extended barrel program polishes the muscular mountain tannins, infusing the dark fruit cores with decadent baking spice and savory tobacco complexities.
