Red Wine – Robust earthy red color leads to a wafting nose of rose blossom scents and ripe blackberry aromas, tinged with a tarragon herbal edge. There are toasty
notes of barrel char and a whiff of chocolate that emerge with time in the glass. On the tongue the wine offers a dense mélange of fruity flavors: plums,
blackberries, and a cranberry-like tartness that gives a sense of verve to the mid-palate. The texture is supple and velvety, while the flavors are smooth
and remarkably integrated for such a young wine. Plenty of natural acidity makes for a lively mouthful, while just enough tannins keeps everything
bounded in a well-structured frame. Even though this is surprisingly drinkable now, it will mature well in a good cellar. Open tonight with a beef daube
and crusty French bread!
