Pinotage—a unique heritage cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsault—thrives in these soils, benefitting from warm sunny days and cool nighttime Atlantic winds that preserve its bright fruit intensity.
To engineer a wine that is complex yet highly approachable, the winemaker splits the aging process. Approximately 65% of the wine is aged in stainless steel to retain its vibrant, juicy fruit profile, while the remaining 35% is matured in premium French oak barrels for 8 to 10 months. This meticulous process rounds out the tannins and adds seamless layers of spice and vanilla, creating an exceptional, crowd-pleasing red that performs far beyond its everyday price tag
Red Wine – The Chosen Pinotage has a smooth touch to the palate with hints of berry fruits that lingers. It has aromas of ripe strawberry and raspberry flavours with touches of vanilla. Around 30% of the wine has been matured in 1st and 2nd fill French oak 300 liter barrels.
